This blog is under construction. I'm trying new things and this is my test environment. So if you visit here and like someting you see. Leave me a note. Tell me what it is you like. Do you like the flowers? the background color? If it's a color, let me know which one. Cuz I change it often in my attempt to learn new things.

Time Travel Tuesday
Yea, I missed Time Travel Tuesday. But I've got a really great "Blast from the Past" to make up for it. So, here we go.
I was goofing around on YouTube the other day and thought to myself...."Self! There are no real variety shows on like when I was a kid.". So, I thought, I'd look for some to show the kids.
What a hoot!! I could have gone the Merv Griffin kinda route, but that was never what I was interested in. So, in the spirit of purple socks everywhere, I bring to you The Donny and Marie Show.
Oh Yea!!! I loved that show. I had the Donny and Marie barbies complete with purple socks. I still know some of the words to their iconic songs.
"I'm a little bit country/I'm a little bit rock and roll/ I'm a little bit of Memphis and Nashvile/I'm a little bit of Motown in my soul....."
C'mon, you know you want to sing along. I didn't remember however that there was a lot of ice skating going on....hmmm!
It was hard to find just the right clips, but I found some that were good. So, feather your hair and dig out the purple polyester. I bring you Donny and Marie Osmond.

Yep, it's Time Travel Tuesday. Cindy is the master at it. She finds some of the coolest stuff and really takes you back. But today, I had well, lost something. Yep, I hate it when I do that. I'd lost....That Lovin' Feeling. Ha Ha, one of my favorite scenes from the movie. To be followed by another of my favorite scenes. The volleyball scene made me want to move to a beach...ah! Good Times!!
So enjoy this little trip back to yesteryear. If you need a wing man(woman)then today Carpoolqueen is it.
This is not your typical "Sissified" Friendship promise. I thought it was kinda funny, and sounds like some of my friends. So here it is and enjoy.
Are you tired of those sissy 'friendship' poems that always sound good, but never actually come close to reality?
Well, here is a series of promises that actually speak of True Friendship. You WON'T see cutesy little smiley faces just the stone cold truth of our great friendship.
1. When you are sad, I will jump on the person who made you sad like a spidermonkey jacked up on Mountain Dew!!!
2. When you are blue, I will try to dislodge whatever is choking you.
3. When you smile, I will know you are plotting something that I must be involved in.
4. When you're scared, we will high tail it out of here.
5. When you are worried, I will tell you horrible stories about how much worse it could be until you quit whining, ya big baby!!!!
6. When you are confused, I will use little words.
7. When you are sick, Stay away from me until you are well again. I don't want whatever you have.
8. When you fall, I'll pick you up and dust you off--After I laugh my butt off!!
9. This is my oath...Ipledge it to the end. 'Why?' you may ask;--because you are my FRIEND!***********************
Friendship is like peeing your pants, everyone can see it, but only YOU can feel the true warmth.
Kinda brings a tear to your eye doesn't it?

Join me in a trip back to yester-year! Yep, it's Tuesday. And while there is nothing really exciting about Tuesdays (except book release days), I figured I'd start a Tuesday posting on some flashbacks of my youth. If you'd like to share something, by all means, go post something! I'd love to read your story!
So, this Time Travel isn't so much from my childhood, but from a few years ago. It was however one of my favorite skits, and I loved all the Spartan Skits.

I was watching a membership drive for my local PBS station, and they had a DVD selection of the best of Carol Burnett. They showed some skits and interviews. It was great. I have to say, I loved Carol Burnett. It was all sooo great. So, I have the infamous Went With the Wind skit. It's really long but in it's entirety. Enjoy.
